Corey Heim Collects Third Win of Year at North Wilkesboro Speedway

NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. – The Truck Series’ most consistent driver in 2024 reigns supreme again. Delayed by monsoon-level conditions to Sunday afternoon, the Truckers put on a show at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Corey Heim took command in the second half and never looked back. TRICON Garage appears as the runaway championship favorite, now with a hat trick of wins across the last six races.

Ty Majeski was one of a few trucks to stay out under a late rain caution in Stage 1. The No. 98 ThorSport Racing Ford took this opening win. The remainder of the race would be pushed to Sunday following five inches of rain recorded over a 90-minute period. Following a 21-hour delay for lightning and heavy rain, Tyler Ankrum won Stage 2.

A restart with 65 laps left saw Corey Heim grab the lead and drive off from the competition. The No. 11 Toyota Tundra only had to survive one more restart, before driving off to another dominant win.

“That was crazy, definitely a crazy weekend with the weather and whatnot, but I knew since practice we had the speed,” Heim said. “Can’t say enough about these TRICON Garage guys, what a truck and what a weekend. I knew we had potential from practice and we put it all together and executed great today. Huge thank you to them, Safelite, and Toyota for everything.”

Behind Heim though was a thrilling three-way battle for second-place. Grant Enfinger got by Layne Riggs in the closing laps. Making his NASCAR National Series debut, Brendan ‘Butterbean’ Queen came home a close fourth ahead of Sammy Smith. Christian Eckes, Nick Sanchez, Tyler Ankrum, Daniel Dye, and Stewart Friesen rounded out the top-10. Hear from a few of these drivers below.

Only five races now remain until the 2024 Truck Series Playoffs. Thanks to Heim’s trifecta of wins, both him and Christian Eckes are shaping up to be the title heavyweights. The Truckers are back in action Friday night from Charlotte Motor Speedway. The North Carolina Education Lottery 200 goes green at 8:30 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
