Dale Earnhardt Jr to Continue Television Broadcasting Role in 2025 on TNT, Prime Sports

TNT Sports and Prime Video both announced today that Dale Earnhardt Jr., NASCAR Hall of Famer and two-time Daytona 500 Champion, will be joining their broadcast teams for NASCAR coverage beginning in summer 2025.

One of NASCAR’s most iconic drivers ever, Earnhardt will serve as an on-air commentator for TNT Sports’ and Prime Video’s exclusive coverage of ten NASCAR Cup Series races each summer. This block of the Cup Series season will either air on TNT (or the B/R Sports Add-On on Max) or stream on Prime Video.

The 15-time Most Popular Driver will also be featured in a new Bleacher Report content series shared through B/R social and digital platforms. This new series, co-created with Earnhardt’s Dirty Mo Media, will reportedly capture the thrilling NASCAR experience. It will include Earnhardt interviewing special guests while driving on each of TNT’s five NASCAR Cup Series tracks with them in the passenger seat.

“It is such an exciting time to welcome TNT Sports back to NASCAR,” said Earnhardt Jr. “I remember watching the races on TNT back in the day, and it’s so nostalgic to see them return to the sport and to be a part of their team. I’m looking forward to joining their team and also getting the chance to work with Bleacher Report creating content that our fans will enjoy.”

“We’re very thrilled to welcome Dale to the TNT Sports family as we partner closely in setting the cornerstone for our NASCAR coverage,” said Craig Barry, Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer, TNT Sports. “We could not be more excited for the return of NASCAR to TNT Sports next Summer, with Dale being a critical part of the overall vision and execution of our coverage.”

Following the five-week stretch of TNT races, Earnhardt will also be featured as part of Prime Video’s inaugural foray into NASCAR coverage.

Prime Video says Earnhardt will be used in a number of capacities throughout their NASCAR programming. Specific duties will be announced in the coming months.

“I’m honored to be a part of Prime Video’s entrance into NASCAR,” said Earnhardt Jr. “It is an exciting opportunity to have the chance to give our NASCAR fan base yet another way to watch the sport. It will be exciting to see the innovation that Prime Video is going to bring to our sport and the fans.”

A native of Kannapolis, N.C., Earnhardt is deeply intertwined to NASCAR racing. He is a third-generation stock car driver, collecting 26 Cup Series wins, including two Daytona 500 victories (2004, 2014). He won a record 15-straight Most Popular Driver awards from 2003-2017, and back-to-back NASCAR Busch (now Xfinity) Series Championships in 1998 and 1999. Earnhardt was also a member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2021. His father, Dale Earnhardt Sr., won seven Cup titles and 76 Cup races in his legendary career.

Earnhardt Jr had joined NBC Sports’ NASCAR broadcast team after his retirement in 2018. He was a color commentator in their four-man booth until this year.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dale as an official member of the Amazon family, and build our NASCAR coverage around him,” said Jared Stacy, Director of Global Live Sports Production, Prime Video. “One of the most beloved figures in racing history, Dale has an unrivaled passion for the sport. We are so excited for him to connect with NASCAR fans next season on Prime Video.”

Starting in 2025, Prime Video will exclusively stream five NASCAR Cup Series races to end the first half of the season. Prime Video will also show exclusive coverage of practice and qualifying for nearly the entirety of the 2025 NASCAR season’s first half (excluding the Busch Light Clash, Daytona 500, Duels at Daytona, and NASCAR All-Star Race).

Race fans in the United States will have the ability to watch NASCAR live at home or on the go, and across hundreds of compatible devices, streaming from the web, or using the Prime Video app on smartphones, tablets, set-top boxes, game consoles, and connected TVs.
