Josh Williams Chosen to Drive Flagship Kaulig Racing Xfinity Car

WELCOME, N.C. – Announced Thursday, Kaulig Racing has tabbed Josh Williams as the next driver for the No. 11 Chevrolet in the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. Williams’ long-time sponsor, Alloy Employer Services, will be the team’s primary partner.

Williams’ national racing career began at age 16 in the ARCA Menards Series. In the years since, he has made 186 Xfinity starts, with three top-10s in 2023. One of these highlights, an eighth-place run at Loudon, tied Williams’ career-best showing. The Port Charlotte, Florida native now hopes to maximize his biggest opportunity yet with Kaulig Racing. His best Xfinity championship result has been 15th.

Josh Williams has made his name known as a popular underdog in Xfinity competition, who finally gets a shot in a top-tier car. Williams very noticeably left a mark in the March 2023 race in Atlanta, when he parked his car at the start/finish line. This move came after race control ordered Williams to park it in the garage with apparent heavy damage.

“After only an hour in the shop, I already feel like it’s home,” said Williams. “I’ve known a lot of these guys for a long time, and I felt like coming over here would give us a good opportunity to get wins. That’s the goal, Trophy Hunting.”

“Josh Williams has fought tooth and nail for everything in his racing career, and we’re really excited to have him race for us,” said Chris Rice, president of Kaulig Racing. “We love his energy and passion at the track, and we think his personality and drive will fit right in with the Kaulig Racing culture.”

Alloy Employer Services helps negotiate proactive claims management for workplace injuries and risk management. Their relationship with Williams dates back to 2020. They create cost reductions on premiums for employers that are complemented by long-term cost control.

“Josh Williams represents the spirit of racing as we know and love it,” said Chris Estey, Alloy CMO. “We are excited and confident in his potential for the 2024 season. His blend of competitive edge, skill and sportsmanship promotes a super opportunity for him and all his sponsors. For all of us to be aligned with Kaulig Racing produces a powerful recipe.”

Partnering alongside Alloy and Williams will be other sponsors both long-term and new to Williams.

Under Daniel Hemric, this team has made the Xfinity Series Playoffs each of the last two years. It will be fascinating to see how Williams adjusts to this new scenery and a raised competitive ceiling.

Williams’ Kaulig Racing debut will be the 2024 Xfinity Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway in February. Other sponsors for the No. 11 car will be announced at a later date.
