BRISTOL, Tenn. – Year three for the Craftsman Truck Series on the dirt at Bristol was barely ever a contest. After starting third, Joey Logano took command on lap two and hardly ever looked back. In a one-off appearance for ThorSport Racing in the No. 66 Ford, Logano takes home another sword from Bristol Dirt. The inaugural Cup Series Bristol Dirt winner now has two victories on the clay.

This particular year’s Bristol Dirt race for the Truckers never truly got going, with cautions stopping the 150-lap event a whopping 11 times. As the Cup Series veteran, Logano was perfect on every restart, even taking the lead back from starting in the non-preferred groove once.

The only wildcard factor that could possibly change the inevitable outcome was the weather. Within the final 10 laps rain rolled into Bristol and began persistently coming down. This rain never got heavy enough to stop any on-track action though, as Logano cruised to a very dominant win.

This marks Logano’s second Craftsman Truck Series win in only his ninth start. Logano’s past Truck triumph was at Martinsville all the way back in 2015.

“The guys gave me an amazing race Truck,” Logano said. “It was a great F150, Hang 10 Car Wash came on for a last-minute thing, gave it a shot, and I called up ThorSport, they had an extra truck and people. They obviously gave me a really fast truck today. It qualified good in the heat race and was able to drive to the lead pretty early and just be able to control the race.”

“I’m not sure I really learned anything for tomorrow since I really didn’t get to race a whole bunch, but it was fun leading all those laps. I had a great spotter up there in (Ryan) Blaney, he was up there for me, and he kept it entertaining, lighthearted, and fun too.”

“The Trucks versus the Cup cars these days just drive so different, they’re apples and oranges at this point. My fun meter was pegged tonight, had a lot of fun here at Bristol, the dirt is fun. I hope you (fans) enjoyed it. It’s a lot of fun as a driver, moving around and seeing the lanes move a lot. Hopefully tomorrow is just as good with the other car.”

Behind Logano, the top-10 were: Ty Majeski, William Byron, Matt Crafton, Grant Enfinger, Jake Garcia, Chase Briscoe, Tanner Gray, Kaden Honeycutt, and Matt DiBenedetto. Hear from some of these drivers below.

A quick turnaround for the Trucks will see them compete on Friday night at Martinsville. The Long John Silver’s 200 will go green at 7:30 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90. With only three drivers locked into the Playoffs, The Paperclip is a great chance for someone to secure a postseason berth.
