TALLADEGA, Ala. – Jordan Anderson was airlifted to a hospital in Birmingham, Alabama after sustaining burns when his truck caught fire during the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at Talladega Superspeedway.
The 31-year-old is reportedly awake and alert, according to FOX Sports.
A mechanical issue involving the fuel line caused flames to engulf the No. 3 Jordan Anderson Racing truck, sending it spinning and eventually causing Anderson to hit the inside wall. As he hit the wall, Anderson was already attempting to evacuate the truck, hopping up onto the window and being jolted out onto the SAFER Barrier upon impact.
Anderson was able to walk away from the truck but quickly laid down and was taken away from the scene on a stretcher.
Jordan Anderson was in pure survival mode.
