NASCAR Television Schedule: Week of Knoxville Raceway

While both Cup and Xfinity are taking an off week, the same cannot be said for the Camping World Truck Series. As their regular season quickly winds down, Saturday night is one of the biggest wildcard races left. For only the second time, the Truck Series will go to Iowa’s famed Knoxville Raceway.

A season ago, ‘The Sprint Car Capital of the World’ was a very chaotic and crash-filled race; will year two be any different? Both ends of the Truck Series Playoff standings have many drivers in need of strong runs. Who can come out on top in the second and final dirt race of 2022? Knoxville marks the fourth-to-last race in the Truck Series regular season. With dirt opening the field of potential winners, the chances are high for a Playoff-busting victory.

A Tale of Two Points Battles

The Truck Series Playoffs are fast approaching in the not-so-distant future. The remainder of the regular season consists of Knoxville, Nashville Superspeedway, Mid-Ohio, and Pocono on July 23. Not only is the Playoff cut line a hotly contested spot, but so is the overall points lead. The regular season championship and its wealth of bonus points are up for grabs between the top four in points. Ben Rhodes, Chandler Smith, Zane Smith, and John Hunter Nemechek are all only separated by 14 points. The points lead seemingly changes every week, as defending champion Rhodes currently holds a narrow lead.

On the opposite end of the Playoff standings, Matt Crafton holds the last berth by 33 points over Tanner Gray. Five drivers enter Knoxville in the top-10 in points without a win, so these drivers must minimize any loss of ground on the Iowa dirt. That being said, drivers outside of the top 10 such as Derek Kraus, Tyler Ankrum, and Matt DiBenedetto could all feasibly win this weekend.

See a full schedule of events from Knoxville Raceway below. The night will begin with qualifying and heat races before the main event at 9:00 p.m. ET.
