Tyler Reddick Takes Big Machine Racing to Victory Lane in Texas

FORT WORTH, Texas – In only their second year on track, Big Machine Racing are NASCAR Xfinity Series winners. The maiden victory for this young team came at the hands of Tyler Reddick, as he stole the show at Texas. While Reddick may not have been the fastest car, he was out front when it counted, leading the final 31 laps. The two-time Xfinity champion took home his 10th series win.

For a majority of this race, JR Motorsports Chevrolets were unchallenged up front. Four of their five entries took turns pacing the field. They would also sweep both Stages between Noah Gragson and Josh Berry. It would not be until lap 119 where a car not from JRM would lead, when Austin Hill took command.

Not long after Stage 2 however, a few JRM cars ran into trouble. Josh Berry got loose from the inside lane on a restart, washing up the track into the paths of several others. Also involved would be Noah Gragson, Ty Gibbs, Brandon Jones, and more. While this marked the beginning of Gragson’s day going downhill, Berry was able to battle back for a top-10.

Numerous quick cautions falling one right after the other kept the field very tight together for the final Stage. One of these incidents saw another JRM car, Justin Allgaier, have a flat tire. Despite being the third JRM car to find trouble, Allgaier also rebounded nicely for a top-10 day.

Tyler Reddick would take over with 30 laps left, having to survive through one more caution. On this restart, Reddick took off like a rocket, leaving the field far back in his rearview mirror. While the best cars in Texas were from JRM, Big Machine Racing was out front at the end. This second-year team owned by Scott Borchetta takes their first ever win in just their 45th start. Texas was also just Reddick’s second race in their No. 48 Chevrolet.

“First off it’s just a huge opportunity,” Reddick said post-race. “Thank you to Big Machine Racing and Scott Borchetta, and JAG Metals for coming on for this race. Our Chevrolet was just so good. Nobody at RCR was really happy with where the cars were at, and I wanted to help, try and get these cars better. Try and figure out too what we need to do to get back up front. Well, we figured it out pretty quick I guess! Hats off to everyone at RCR, the ECR Power under this hood has always been outstanding. Big power baby back in Welcome, NC. So great day, really happy to get this team their first win, what a day!”

Behind Reddick was another Cup Series star, William Byron carrying the flag for JRM with the 88. Sam Mayer, Justin Allgaier, and Austin Hill were the top five. Other top finishers included: Ryan Truex, Josh Berry, Riley Herbst, AJ Allmendinger, and Landon Cassill.

The Xfinity Series will be back in action next Saturday from Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Alsco Uniforms 300 will go green at 1:30 p.m. ET on FS1, PRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
