Kyle Busch Looks for Rebounding Run, Season Sweep at          Richmond Raceway

This weekend, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series makes its second stop on the Playoff schedule at Richmond Raceway. 1 driver who will certainly be looking to bounce back in the track’s first-ever Playoff race is Kyle Busch. Despite rallying to a 7th-place finish last weekend at Las Vegas, the #18 team had an assortment of issues. While many may look at the 7th-place finish and think it’s a solid day, it is in no way a formula in which to win his second Cup Series Championship. That is why this weekend is key for the #18 team to get back on the right track and battle for a win.

Richmond Domination for Kyle Busch

With this being said, there is perhaps no better track for Busch to go to in hopes of a rebound. Richmond Raceway is a track in which Kyle Busch boasts the lead in most stats among active drivers. The driver of the #18 M&M’s Toyota Camry ha visited victory lane at the track 5 times, which leads active drivers. However, none of his 5 Richmond victories have come during the fall race. He won the Richmond spring race 4 straight years from 2009 until 2012.

Busch most recently won at Richmond Raceway this spring, a race in which he led 32 laps after starting 32nd. The April race was also his third-consecutive victory. Along with this, Kyle boasts the track’s best average finish at 5.55. In his 26 starts at the track, he has 16 top-5 finishes. This includes 6 runner-up finishes to go along with his 5 wins.

Not only does Busch boast these extraordinary stats at Richmond Raceway, but it is a track that he truly enjoys. As Kyle said “I love Richmond. It’s one of my favorite racetracks and one of my best racetracks.” This is a driver who exudes confidence when he arrives at this track and rightfully so. Taking everything into consideration, not only is Kyle Busch primed for a bounce-back weekend, he is primed for a season sweep of Richmond.
