Honeycutt Wins Homestead, Crowned 2026 Craftsman Truck Series Champion
HOMESTEAD, Fla. – For the second time in two years, the TRICON Garage Toyota won the season finale and took home the Craftsman Truck Series championship. Handed the No. 11’s keys from Corey Heim, Kaden Honeycutt was clutch when it mattered most, putting his own name on Truck racing’s biggest prize. Five wins on the season keeps the Toyota powerhouse team atop the series, vanquishing all challengers. The 23-year-old Texan is now the 23rd different man to hoist the Truck Series championship.
Another TRICON Garage Toyota led the way for much of the stages, with Corey Heim taking max-points. Not far behind him at both breaks was Kaden Honeycutt, who gained a few points before halfway.
While Honeycutt maintained across the stages, both segments were added insult to injury for Layne Riggs. Lap two saw the No. 34 make contact racing for a spot in the top-five. This damage eventually cut a tire and forced an early pit stop. Stage 2 saw another tire go down on the No. 34, leading to a dismal 32nd-place finish. These very early blows were the final nails in the coffin for Front Row Motorsports’ title hopes in 2026.

Up front, meanwhile, Heim was anything but his usual dominant self in the final Stage. The No. 1 Toyota lost the lead on the restart and dropped to sixth, with Christian Eckes taking command. Honeycutt, meanwhile, had the championship in the bag by a wide margin, but still felt nervous in the top-five. The No. 11 only took over on a restart with 14 laps left, soon leaving the field in the dust. TRICON Garage remains the golden standard of excellence in Trucks, now with back-to-back title winning seasons.
“This team is a frickin’ hall of fame team,” Honeycutt said on the Homestead frontstretch. “Scott Zipadelli is the best damn crew chief on that pit road, and he’s the best man out there. He’s not just a hall of fame crew chief, he’s a hall of fame man. And he has done nothing but mentor me, and make me better every single week. Man, this is amazing. I’ve worked so damn hard to be here. Thank you to every owner. Thank you, everybody that let me drive their racecar for them, whether it was dirt, asphalt, road course, didn’t matter. That is because of you guys, and I’m sitting right here, with this group behind me, as champions. I’m so out of breath, I wish I could talk harder, but man, thank you fans for showing up. We just won at friggin’ Homestead to end the damn championship.”
“Man, [Scott Zipadelli] is unbelievable. Well, I was saving the first half of that race. I didn’t want to push it too hard, and then, it fell in our hands. I put my nuts on the dash, and wanted to win the race, so, thanks to the whole team. I love them so much.”
Homestead marked a fifth win of 2026 for Honeycutt, joining: Watkins Glen, Richmond, Kansas, and Phoenix. Layne Riggs, a seven-time winner this season himself, would have to settle for second in points after his very early troubles. The final standings saw Honeycutt take the championship by 83 points over Riggs. Hear from the Front Row Motorsports driver below on his tough title loss.
He made sure it all came down to tonight. How will Layne Riggs define his 2026? He talks with @AmandaBusick after the season finale. pic.twitter.com/qNAeUp55fK
