LONG POND, Pa. – The Tricky Triangle lived up to its name for a few truckers Friday evening at Pocono Raceway. Corey Heim was well on his way to another dominating victory, until a flat tire took him out of running. The top spot was soon inherited by Carson Hocevar, who fired off too soon coming to the green flag. This gave the lead to sophomore driver Layne Riggs, who quickly scooted away to his first win of the season. Front Row Motorsports is now completely locked in the Truck Series Playoffs, with two title-caliber threats in their shop.
To the surprise of very few, Corey Heim was best in class from the very start. Heim took command on lap one, and led all of Stage 1 before short pitting. This move handed the opening Stage win to Layne Riggs, while Heim remained out front through Stage 2.
Following both stages running green in their entirety, Stage 3 saw the opposite. Back-to-back yellows kept the field bunched together in the early laps. One of these incidents took out several trucks in the tunnel turn when three-wide didn’t work out.
The final restart with 19 laps left, however, saw both top contenders run into issues. Heim felt a flat tire under pace laps, and brought his Toyota to pit road from the lead. The four-time winner in 2025 seemingly found another way to throw away a fifth victory. This moved Carson Hocevar to the front row, who incurred a jumped restart penalty over control truck Layne Riggs.
A black flag to Hocevar gave the top spot to Riggs, who cruised to his maiden win of the season following his first career pole. Riggs had an unbeatable truck over the closing laps, taking the checkers by almost four seconds.
“That’s just a testament to this team,” Riggs said. “That thing was bad fast, especially that last run right there. I really hate the 11 fell out, not sure what the 7 was doing on the restart there. I made sure to take advantage of it. Not really sure why we slowed down 30 miles an hour coming to the restart zone. I’m a happy man right now.”
“It’s great to have Bare Knuckle Boxing on the truck, they have a fight tonight in Nashville, make sure to tune in on VICE TV to see all the action after this race.”
“Man I am on cloud nine, this is not one I had circled. Last year we wrecked in practice, didn’t qualify, and rode around dead last all day. Today we were the best, man that’s amazing.”
A few career-best finishes were tied right behind Riggs, with Tanner Gray in second and Kaden Honeycutt in third. They were just ahead of veterans Brandon Jones and Daniel Hemric. Connor Mosack, Chandler Smith, Stewart Friesen, Ty Majeski, and Rajah Caruth rounded out the top-10.
Riggs is the seventh different race winner of 2025 to secure a Playoff berth. With four races left in the regular season, only three more spots remain up for grabs. Take a look at the updated Truck Series Playoff grid below.
Next weekend will see a brand new track make its NASCAR debut with the Truckers–Lime Rock Park. The famed Connecticut road course is perhaps the biggest wildcard race left for Truck Series competitors. Nobody knows exactly what to expect on the 1.5-mile circuit. The LiUNA 150 goes green Saturday at 1 p.m. ET on FOX, NRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
