Kaden Honeycutt Dominates Late for Fourth Truck Win of 2026 Phoenix
AVONDALE, Ariz. – Once the Truck Series points leader found the top spot, Kaden Honeycutt proved to be unbeatable. Friday night saw The TRICON Garage No. 11 take its second-straight Phoenix Raceway win. Now a four-time winner on this season, Honeycutt inches ever-so-closer to delivering his team another championship.
Although title rivals Layne Riggs and Kaden Honeycutt made up the front row, neither would take Stage 1. Riggs’ No. 34 led early from the pole, but in lapped traffic was stalked down by Ty Majeski. The Menards No. 88 would go onto sweep both stages. The 2024 Truck champion was looking for his first win since this race two years ago.
Kaden Honeycutt took command for the first time on the final stage restart, and never looked back. Win number four on the year for the No. 11 was a Stage 3 domination. Honeycutt took the Phoenix checkers by 1.5 seconds over his closest competitor.
“My pit crew, they did a great job, man,” Honeycutt said. “Just, I give so much credit to them because they’re so damn good. Thank you Safelite, Scott Zipadelli [crew chief], Mobil1, TROCON Garage, Toyota Racing. Oh, this is so amazing. Phoenix! We finally got one, baby. Whoo! Yeah, I just can’t say enough about Scott. My crew, David, Tim, Chuck, Adam, Cube, everyone that works so dang hard on these race trucks. Man, I’m so fortunate to be able to drive these things. They spend all their hours of the day just for me to drive them, and I can’t be more grateful for them. So grateful for the opportunity of Toyota Racing and TRICON, K-Ray, David Gilliland, everyone at TRICON Garage, just so awesome.”
“In Stage 1, I just struggled. I don’t know. I just didn’t have good rear grip to start that first stage and Scott went to work for me. He was never concerned. He just got me locked in the whole time and man I just can’t thank him enough and such a great job. Pit crew did their job. I can’t thank them enough. And I’m going to do something new. I’m going to have an actual wrapped helmet for Safelite. Every single win I get in NASCAR, I’m gonna go up there, I’m gonna give it to one of those kids, because their parents drove from, God knows where, to come and watch us race, and they deserve something like this. So we’re gonna go up there and give them one. So thank you, Phoenix. Thank you for coming and supporting us.”
Thanks to winning, Honeycutt extends his Chase championship lead to 39 points over Riggs. Splitting them in second at Phoenix was Christian Eckes, who now takes over third in points. ThorSport’s duo of Ty Majeski and Jake Garcia rounded out the Phoenix top-five.
