Four in a Row on the Road for Corey Heim after Triple-Overtime run at The Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. – Corey Heim continues to leave a very impressive mark on Truck Series history. The TRICON Garage driver picked up a sixth checkered flag of 2025 at Watkins Glen, after outlasting triple overtime. Heim also earned a fourth-straight road win in the Trucks, extending an all-time series record.

From the pole, Corey Heim flexed his muscles early with a dominant Stage 1. The TRICON Garage Toyota continued this torrent pace, but lost Stage 2 to Ben Rhodes after a hectic one-lap dash.

Opting to not pit after Stage 2 gave Christopher Bell prime track position to start the final stage. The substitute drive in the No. 52 Toyota appeared to be a winning performance, until overtime hit. A hard-charging Heim had to rally forward in the final stage after restarting 12th.

Heim finally retook command in the first short-lived green white checkered finish. Little did anyone know at the time, but two successive restart incidents in the bus stop would send this race into triple-overtime. This many extra laps put fuel concerns at top of mind for many leaders, including Heim.

On the third overtime try, Heim got through the gears and was soon on the offense over Daniel Hemric. Try as hard as the No. 19 did to hang with Heim over the final two laps, he was no match for the dominant driver of the day and season. Watkins Glen marked a sixth checkered flag of 2025 for Heim, and a series-record fourth road course triumph.

“Just never give up,” Heim said after his 17th career Truck Series win. “I got behind on that last stage, I was scratching and clawing. Trying to get back through the field. I had my brakes pretty much go out completely on me on that long green flag run. I was beating them up trying to get back. Blew the bus stop, made a lot of mistakes myself. I feel like we’ve had a lot of them get away from us this year by cautions or whatever else, failures, parts, whatever. But finally, had one go our way and had some more opportunities to finish it off. Couple more at the end too, for good measure.”

“Huge thank you to TRICON Garage, the Mobil1 Tundra was phenomenal, Toyota, just everyone that’s a big part of this. Just so many people to thank, so many to keep impressing throughout the season. Big picture is the championship this year, and that’s what we’re looking for.”

Behind the duo of Heim and Hemric, Gio Ruggiero, Christopher Bell, and Tyler Ankrum were the top-five. The rest of the top-10 were: Sammy Smith, Ty Majeski, Connor Zilisch, Matt Mills, and Layne Riggs.

A sixth victory on the season for Heim only gives the regular season champion even more bonus points. The updated Playoff grid now has both Grant Enfinger and Ty Majeski locked in on points. Next week’s regular season finale will determine the final two members of the 2025 Playoffs.

For those last two Playoff berths, it all comes down to 250 laps around Richmond Raceway. Friday night lights at the Eero 250 will set the postseason grid for the 2025 Craftsman Truck Series. The short track showdown goes green Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET on FS1, NRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
