Jimmy G is Back for the San Francisco 49ers

If you don’t remember from the 2018 season, Jimmy Garappolo tore his ACL in Week 3 and broke our hearts. The rest of the season, while it had a few bright spots (namely Nick Mullens and George Kittle), was pretty sad for us Niners fans. Especially given all the hope we had after the 2017 season, it was pretty crushing to see Jimmy G go down. But now, he has retaken the field — and, man, was it incredible to see. Garoppolo was running and throwing at today’s 49ers OTAs, the first time anyone has been able to see him throw. Jimmy G is Back!

It was pretty great to see the greatest jawline in sports back on the field. Before I move on, I feel obligated to comment on Jimmy G’s incredible good looks.

I mean, wow. If I was Tom Brady, I would’ve forced him out of New England too. Why would you want your wife anywhere near that guy? It’s really not fair for someone as good looking and talented as him to exist, but since he does, at least he’s on my team.

But I digress. The real important thing is that now, after a long break, he is finally looking good on the football field again. (And, of course, off it as well. C’mon Timmy, stop staring at Jimmy G’s handsome face and write your article!) Tuesday, May 21 was the first time Jimmy has thrown in front of any media. He did so at the OTAs. The team has cleared him to participate in all drills for OTAs — except 11-on-11 work, which he will wait until training camp to do. This is just a simple precaution, to limit the chances that someone falls onto his knee and re-injures it. But, essentially, Jimmy G is throwing a football again, and my hopes for the 49ers season are restored. Here are some highlights:

Throwing

Man, that makes me excited, watching him throw that. But then, I saw this next video, and now I can’t wait for the season to start.

Look at him run! That doesn’t look like someone with a torn ACL to me! He definitely looks healthy (in my very experienced and qualified opinion). This is incredibly good news for the 49ers. While I love Nick Mullens (after all, he did have the greatest debut for a QB in NFL history), Jimmy G is a far superior QB. The Niners haven’t been good in a while, but we’ve slowly but surely been building up a talented roster. With a healthy Jimmy G at the helm, I truly believe that we will go far this season. Now I just have to somehow find something to do for the next three months. (Please put the 49ers on Hard Knocks, HBO — after the end of Game of Thrones, I feel like you guys owe me something)
