WrestleMania weekend is upon us. Many promotions throughout the nation are putting on their fair share of major shows, but none can be as big as NXT and WWE. This Friday, NXT invades the WWE Network with NXT TakeOver: New York. I give you the final match card for NXT TakeOver: New York, as well as any final news for any of the matches.
NXT Tag Team Championships: The War Raiders (c) vs Ricochet & Aleister Black
Rick O’Shea & Aleister Black are the winners of the 2019 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. With their tournament win, they have a title opportunity against The War Raiders.
Rowe and Hanson are ready for Black and Ricochet, but can the physically smaller men battle their larger counterparts and walk away with the gold?
Answer: Probably not. Rowe could kill a normal size man with one punch.
NXT Women’s Championship Fatal 4-Way: Shayna Baszler (c) vs Bianca Belair vs Io Shirai vs Kairi Sane
Odds are if Shayna wasn’t so angry all the time she would just have Io Shirai to worry about. But, after interfering in a number one contender’s match, Baszler must defend her title in a Fatal 4-Way.
Why is Belair getting another title shot after losing at the last TakeOver? Because Dakota Kai is hurt and Candice LeRae is too good for this sh*t?
I don’t know. Let’s go, Io.
WWE United Kingdom Championship: Pete Dunne (c) vs WALTER
RIP Pete Dunne’s chest.
NXT North American Championship: The Velveteen Dream (c) vs Matt Riddle
What happens when two kings step into the same ring to try and see who the better man is?
Matt Riddle wants to prove he is the best in NXT by beating Velveteen Dream. Dream is out to show the world the spotlight is and always will be on him.
Vacant NXT Championship Two-out-of-Three Falls: Johnny Gargano vs Adam Cole BAY BAY
Tommaso Ciampa was originally supposed to defend his cherished NXT Championship in the main event. But, due to a neck injury, the title now lies vacant.
Adam Cole BAY BAY won a Fatal 5-Way to earn a spot opposite of Johnny Wrestling. Triple H demands the match ends decisively, so it will be held under 2-out-of-3 Falls rules.
Who will be the Undisputed Champion of NXT? Will the Undisputed Era make it to the top or will Johnny TakeOver BAY BAY finally win the big one?
