Former WWE Diva Ashley Massaro Returning to the Ring

Back in the day, the WWE Diva Search was a real thing. Though it was well before NXT, there were a handful of women that found some kind of a ground with the company because of it. One of those women was the 2005 WWE Diva Search winner, the punky Ashley Massaro.

Ashley was one of the lovely ladies who appeared in Playboy, and she gained a ton of momentum with the WWE because of that.  Unfortunately for fans, Ashley Massaro retired from the ring back in 2008. From there, she went on to care for her daughter and focus on other things.

However, yesterday Ashley announced on Twitter that she was planning on lacing up her boots once again. She’ll begin to “bump around the ring” next week at New York Wrestling Connection. She also mentioned NYWC was a super-safe promotion where she felt fully comfortable competing.

This will certainly be interesting to see where the former WWE Diva will go from here, and if she will gain some interest in the future from other promotions.

WWE Interested in Bringing Sister Abigail Back?

Out of all the storylines that the WWE could possibly botch, they sure did a number with Bray Wyatt’s ‘Sister Abigail’ character. Rather than use a real human being, they gave Bray a weird veil and some eye makeup so he could portray both people. After Bray got the mumps and the entire angle was seemingly scrapped, the WWE put Bray into a tag team with Matt Hardy.

However, Indie wrestler Tatevik went to trademark “Sister Abigail.” All looked great…until WWE opposed the trademark on the final day they could: March 20th. They filed an opposition to Tatevik’s filing.

Perhaps this is good news for Bray Wyatt and his Sister Abigail character. Or, perhaps this is just WWE’s way of remaining petty as usual, ensuring that nobody else can use a gimmick or creation they have helped with.

We write the Sister Abigail character better than WWE does. No, really, we do.
