Kylian Mbappé Closer To Real Madrid

Comments made by the PSG striker Kylian Mbappé left several fans concerned about his future at the club after their impressive win over Guingamp.

“I feel really good here, but you never know what can happen in football,” he said.

”I have a contract until 2021 and it’s not the time to think about other things.”

Why Now?

Real Madrid have struggled to replace talisman Cristiano Ronaldo since departing to Juventus last summer. To make things worst, Gareth Bale has been rather disappointing for ‘Los Blancos’ who are still looking for answers as they seek to turn things around in La Liga.

Mbappé has been previously linked to a move to Santiago Bernabeu. Though, last season he opted to stay at home in Paris, the player is eager and hungry for more winning. Winning Champions League trophies, which he has yet to do at PSG since joining in 2017.

Though this season isn’t over and PSG are positioned well against Manchester United in their next bout, an early exit could mean an early negotiation period for the French international.

This season alone, Mbappé has an amazing 11 amazing and 21 goals. He is one goal behind Lionel Messi, to put things in perspective.

However, the rich investment done by the Parisian outfit with Neymar Jr. and Edinson Cavani at the front of it all is what is preventing an exit.

PSG are running away with all domestic titles and are clear favorites to win the title this year with 13 points clear after 19 matches.

What Could Prevent A Move?

Mbappé’s reasons for staying at PSG were money related. The Parisian side invested a lot in him to draw him to stay at home versus making the jump to Madrid last season. However, if they are capable of wining Champions this season, he will probably rethink the move.

However, a move to Real Madrid could only be stopped by another great club. Tuttosport claims that Juventus would also be in the competition to acquire the World Cup champion this summer. The opportunity to join Cristiano Ronaldo would be a great opportunity for the Mbappé.

A lot depends on how well PSG does this season in Champions. However, I would not discount an exit in the summer even if they winning it all in 2019.
