The Maryland Terrapins pay Ohio State Buckeyes a visit on Friday night in Columbus. The Terps bring a six-game win streak after defeating Radford, Nebraska, Rutgers, Minnesota, Indiana and Wisconsin. Meanwhile, the Buckeyes sit on a three-game losing streak and look forward to ending that against Maryland.

Terps vs Buckeyes

The Terps come to Columbus after defeating the Wisconsin Badgers 60-64. As has been a norm, Anthony Cowan lead the team with 21 points, six rebounds and three assist. Eric Ayala and Jalen Smith added 11 points each. Unfortunately for the Terps, Bruno Fernando found himself in foul trouble early on and spent the majority of the second half on the bench.

The Terps are enjoying their third 6-1 start to Big Ten in their last four season. However, Mark Turgeon’s side is 6-6 all-time against the Buckeyes. In their last meeting, the Terps came on top with a 77-71 victory at the Value City Arena.

Meanwhile, the Buckeyes are coming off a year where they landed a second place finish in the Big Ten. Head coach Chris Holtmann is seeking his personal string of four straight NCCA Tournament appearance that date back to his time at Butler.

Kaleb Wesson has become the Buckeye’s scoring leader this season with 16.2 points per game and 6.9 rebounds. Additionally, he is followed by C.J. Jackson who has started 46 of 50 games for Ohio State while contributing 12.9 points, 3.0 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game.

Prediction

Maryland is coming off wins against ranked #24 Nebraska and #22 Indiana. Ohio State has struggled and the rough stretch may not end just yet. However, they may as well make it very difficult for the Terps to overcome. While there is a desire of ending a losing streak, there is a desire to continue winning for the Terps. This could also be a trap game for Maryland as they be overlooking the Buckeyes to reach their next visit at East Lansing on Monday.

Maryland: 70

Ohio State: 67
