Spurs hosts Chelsea in the semifinals of the Carabao Cup with a chance at reaching the finals.

Due to recent form, Tottenham enters this game as slight favorites. However, the Blues are hopeful of going through.

Both sides are eager to reach the finals since 2015, when the two sides met with Chelsea beating the Spurs 2-0.

Team News

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will be without Lucas Moura for the first semifinal leg due to a knee injury. Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele, Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama are also set to miss the match.

Meanwhile, Maurizio Sarri will be without Ruben Loftus-Cheek with a back injury. Additionally, Mateo Kovacic could potentially see action after returning from illness.

Predicted Lineups

Tottenham XI: Lloris; Trippier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Davies; Sissoko, Winks; Lucas, Alli, Eriksen; Kane.

Chelsea XI: Kepa; Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Alonso; Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic; Willian, Morata, Hazard.

Prediction

This is the second time that Tottenham host Chelsea at Wembley this season. The Spurs hope to repeat their performance from last November where their side picked up a 3-1 win in the Premier League.

This presents itself as a great opportunity for Pochettino to lead the Spurs to some potential silverware, something they have not won since 2008.

Meanwhile, Chelsea has yet to be consistent at scoring and winning. A lot is being demanded from Eden Hazard at times at front, but he can’t do it all at front. He will need more help from others in order to get a favorable score in Tuesday’s game.

Nevertheless, this is also an opportunity for Chelsea to come out and make a statement that they will be a force to be reckoned with.
