Manchester City will try to get back to their winning ways against Everton after suffering their first defeat against Chelsea. However, the Toffees have shown a renewed side under new manager Marco Silva.

Nevertheless, Everton has yet to earn a win in December and the Etihad side seeks to return to first place, that being at least for one night.

Their head-to-head record indicates that their matches have been rather equal. However, recent results have shown that the Toffees have been quite difficult for City to defeat.

Team News

Pep Guardiola is short on midfielders with David Silva and Fernandinho recently injured. Additionally, Kevin De Bruyne continues to recover from his knee injury.

Meanwhile, Silva’s side have a near fully fit squad to face the Citizens on Saturday. Everton will continue to be without James McCarthy who has been absent since January with a broken leg.

Predicted Lineups

Manchester City: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Zinchenko; B Silva, Delph, Gundogan; Sterling, Jesus, Sané.

Everton: Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Mina, Digne; Gueye, Gomes; Walcott, Sigurdsson, Bernard; Richarlison.

Prediction

Though they were wounded at Stamford Bridge, the Sky Blues returned to their winning ways against Hoffenheim in Champions League.

Meanwhile, Everton are winless in December but their only defeat came at Liverpool.

Guardiola’s side have always shown they can come back to form after defeats. However, Everton is a side capable of troubling league leaders.

A victory by Everton will be a bit too far to predict but a decent 2-2 draw is in the realm of possibilities.

Manchester City 2 – 2 Everton
