Palacios And Brahim Joining Real Madrid In January

Both Exequiel Palacios and Brahim Diaz will be joining Real Madrid this January.

Los Blancos‘ are set to sign River Plate sensation midfielder after this month’s Club World Cup, say Marca.

In addition, Real Madrid are confident of a move for Manchester City youngster Brahim Diaz, according to ESPN.

Palacios’ release clause stands at €20m while Brahim’s is at €11m.

The two players are part of Florentino Perez’s effort to bring in the next generation of stars to Santiago Bernabeu. Additionally, this is part of the club’s desire to monopolize the market before these undeveloped players become 100 million euro players.

The 20-year-old made his debut with the Buenos Aires club at the age of 16. He has recently been part of two international caps for Argentina and has grabbed interest from other clubs such as Barcelona and Atletico de Madrid. Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City were also pursuing the Argentine youngster.

Since debuting with the first team, he has made 47 appearances for ‘Las Gallinas”. 20 of those appearances came in the 2018 calendar year, while also assisting River defeat their all-time rivals Boca Juniors at the Copa Libertadores finals in Madrid.

The youngster is with River at this year’s Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates and could easily face his new club in the finals.

The Malaga born is said to be out of contract at the end of the 2018/19 season.  ESPN reports that City has offered a new contract, however, Brahim wants more playing time.

This season under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola, the youngster has racked three appearances. In those three, he has scored twice, but has not been given any minutes since their last victory in the Carabao Cup against Fulham in November.

Similarly to Palacios, Real Madrid are holpful they can finalize the move for the youngster as they are investing in the best emerging Spanish talent. They are also concerned that sides such as Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain come and snatches them from their hands.

The 19-year-pld joined City from his hometown Malaga in 2013.

Certainly, these are not the normal galactic signings you would see from Real Madrid. However, they are smart moves that are setting them up for a great future.
