Sony Entertainment Announces They Will Not Be Attending E3 In 2019

E3 has been the pinnacle for video game and tech showplace for the past 25 years, Bringing gamers of the world the newest products and game announcements. And one of E3 heaviest hitters, Sony Entertainment announced they would not be attending the E3 event that is supposed to take place in 2019. This came as a shock to many fans, some were hoping for updates on games such as Last Of Us Part 2 and other major titles. When a decision like this is made, there is normally something else going on in the works. Could Sony be preparing for a big announcement? Perhaps a new system?

Why Did Sony Entertainment Cancel?

Perhaps they are trying to build some kind of expo of their own. The official statement that Sony released suggests they are going to get involved in the community in a different way. Which could mean “PlayStation Experience” is going to be even bigger and have more of a platform than before. Like I said earlier, Sony could be working on releasing news of a brand new system. It would be nice to get a new system. Especially with Microsoft coming out with their Xbox One X. Last Of Us Part II could be getting an extravagent stage at PSX.

What Does This Mean For E3?

This could mean a lot of things for E3, but one thing it doesn’t mean is anything good. Sony Entertainment is E3s biggest and most popular contributor. Of course, always having healthy competition in Microsoft. This will certainly hurt E3 in the sense of they won’t have Sony’s amazing setup and releases. Nonetheless, it won’t destroy E3 2019, but it definitely won’t be the same without Sony attending. Whatever Sony has up their sleeve, I’m excited to see what they have in store.
