Sixers Defeat Hornets 122-119 In Overtime Thriller

The Philadelphia 76ers and Charlotte Hornets waged war with one another for the third time this season. This was also the second time that regulation wasn’t enough for these two teams to settle the score. In what wound up being a career night for Hornets point guard Kemba Walker, the Sixers outlasted the Hornets. It took a last second three pointer from the newly acquired Jimmy Butler to lift the Sixers past the Hornets 122-119.

Four Sixers Starters Scored in Double Figures

If Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons were a pro wrestling tag team, they would be known as “Double Trouble”. These two heavyweights brought the fight to Charlotte last night, each adding a double double to their stat lines. Embiid axed their defense with 33 points and 11 rrebounds.Simmons also axed the Hornets with 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds of his own. JJ Redick would make a fitting third member to their trio. Redick crushed them with 23 points and was 5-11 from 3-point range. Although Butler’s stat sheet wasn’t as impressive of this four man wrecking crew, he delivered the fatal blow. It was his only three pointer of the game with 0.03 seconds left in the OT period which secured this win for the Sixers.

Career High for Kemba Walker

Walker was a one man gang last night. He equated to half of his team’s scoring output with a career high 60 points. This included six three pointers, a flawless 12-12 outing from the charity stripe. He also added four rebounds and four assists.

Unfortunately, this performance was not all positive for Walker as he committed a team high nine turnovers. The Hornets only had two other players who scored in double figures. Jeremy Lamb had his first double double of the season, scoring 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Cody Zeller also scored 10 points for the Hornets.

Here Comes The Suns…

The Sixers have a day off to prepare for the Phoenix Suns, who will be coming to town. Will they be able to keep their momentum and earn a third win in a row? Or will the Suns set the City of Brotherly Love on fire and walk away with a win? Tune in tomorrow evening to find out!
