Panthers beat down the Senators by 5-1, Extending Their Winning Streak to Four Games.

Mike Hoffman got his revenge on his former team on Sunday as the Panthers beat the Senators by a score of 5-1. This game featured Hoffman extending his point streak to 12 games. This is one game shy of the franchise leader, Pavel Bure.

James Reimer stopped 34 of 35 shots to give him his second win of the season.

Mike McKenna made 35 saves.

Game Summary

1st Period

Goal: OTT 1-0 OTT

Ryan Dzingel would open up the scoring for the game with his ninth of the year on the power play. Dzingel would receive a perfect pass from Chris Tierney and wrist one by James Reimer. The goal was also assisted by Maxime Lajoie. Time of the goal was 18:35.

2nd Period

Florida would open up the floodgates on Ottawa.

Goal: FLA 1-1

Aleksander Barkov would get this game tied. The puck would bounce to Evgenii Dadonov. He would pass it to Mike Hoffman and then to Barkov who was alone in the slot and wrist one by McKenna. This would extend Dadonov’s point streak to 11 games and Hoffman’s point streak to 12 games. Time of the goal was 3:05.

Goal: FLA 2-1 FLA

Johnathan Huberdeau would net his fourth of the year on the power play and give the Panthers the lead. Keith Yandle would take it from the point and feed it to Vincent Trochek. Trochek would then send it to Huberdeau in the slot as he would wrist it home past McKenna. Time of the goal was 6:01.

Goal: FLA 3-1 FLA

Barkov would net his second of the game and his third in two games. After Bogdan Kiselevich would flip the puck into the neutral zone, Barkov would prevent a potential steal from Christian Jaros. As a result, Barkov would go on the races and blast one by McKenna. The goal was also assited by Mike Hoffman. As a result, this gives him a two point night. Time of the goal was 14:57.

Goal: FLA 4-1 FLA

Troy Brouwer would extend the Panthers lead and give them their fourth straight four-goal game. Colton Sceviour would feed Brouwer, who was parked in front of the Ottawa net. As a result, Brouwer easily puts it into the net, giving him his second goal in two games. Additionally, the goal was assited by Juho Lammikko. As a result, this gives him his first career NHL assist. Time of the goal was 16:03.

Goal: FLA 5-1 FLA

Frank Vatrano continues to find the back of the net for Florida with his fifth of the year. Vatrano would go on an odd-man rush with Huberdeau, who had the puck. From the wing, Huberdeau would feed it to Vatrano in the slot and then fire one past McKenna to extend the Panthers lead. The goal was also assisted by Kiselevich, his second point of the game. Time of the goal was 18:11.

3rd Period

James Reimer continues to slam the door shut on Ottawa to keep their lead. As a result, the Senators could not find the back of the net.

After beating the Lightning 4-2, the Senators seemed lost and dysfunctional.

Final shots on goal were 40-35 in favor of Florida.

The Senators will fly back home to take on the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday, November 15th at 7:30 pm ET.

Florida (6-5-3)

Florida will begin a six-game road trip against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, November 13th at 7:00 pm ET.
