Becky Lynch Set to Miss Survivor Series

As being reported by Cultaholic and Fightful.com, Becky Lynch will miss her match this Sunday at Survivor Series. This comes from a report saying Lynch is suffering from a concussion and broken nose.

The Worst Possible Time

Becky is slotted to face Ronda Rousey this Sunday at Survivor Series. This is part of the traditional SmackDown vs. RAW concept of the pay-per-view.

During last night’s edition of Monday Night RAW, Lynch stormed the ring with other members of the SmackDown women’s roster. During the massive brawl, Lynch took a stiff shot from Nia Jax. The strike bloodied Lynch, and apparently caused a concussion and broken nose.

With one of the “Big 4” WWE events this Sunday, this injury couldn’t come at a worse time. Since Lynch is unable to compete, one of the biggest matches on the card will no longer take place. Aside from bragging about her bloody face, Lynch hasn’t said anything regarding this injury.

Don’t Push The Blame

Nia Jax, the one who caused the possible injury, has yet to address the situation. Many fans have aired their grievances with the former RAW Women’s Champion. Though it was Jax’s fault, we need to remember that accidents like this can happen at any given time. Professional wrestling is a contact sport, and much like football or hockey, a concussion or broken nose can happen at any given time. If it was Jax’s intention to injure Lynch, then this would be an entirely different story. But since it wasn’t we can’t give Nia all the blame.

As head injuries go, a concussion is a pretty serious thing if it goes untreated. A broken nose can sometimes require surgery or several weeks away from active competition. Maybe WWE gives Becky a face guard, much like the one Trish Stratus wore when she broke her nose. However, there is nothing to protect someone from a concussion.

This is devastating to Survivor Series. A broken nose can be protected with a face mask. But a brain injury isn’t that easy to heal. Hopefully Becky recovers quickly from her injuries and she won’t have to miss any more time from the ring.
