Top 10 WWE Managers of All Time

Many greats in WWE are not in-ring competitors. Some of the most remembered Superstars accompany the in-ring talent to the ring. Over the years, many managers have come and gone. What better way to honor some of the very best than to rank them in a “best of” list? In the power invested in TSJ101Sports, on behalf of wrestling fans everywhere, here are the Top 10 WWE Managers of all time.

Honorable Mentions:

Vickie Guerrero:

The wife of the late, great Eddie Guerrero managed Edge, Eddie, Rey Mysterio, and Dolph Ziggler over her career. She is best remembered for being SmackDown General Manager. Oh, and let’s not forget her trademark annoying voice.

Lana:

Since moving to SmackDown Live, Lana has transitioned to a wrestling role. Though it isn’t as frequent as when she was on RAW or NXT, Lana can be seen accompanying her husband, Rusev.

Sensational Sherri:

Sensational Sherri was the valet of both Shawn Michaels and Randy Savage. Though not as remembered as often as others, she was still a notable part of the WWF/E in the late eighties.

Chyna:

Who could forget DX’s muscular bodyguard known as the “Ninth Wonder of the World”? Chyna is a former WWF Intercontinental Champion. She is also so far the only woman to compete in the King of the Ring tournament.

10: Miss Elizabeth

When people think of “Macho Man” Randy Savage, a lot will remember his lovely valet, Miss Elizabeth. Throughout the eighties and early nineties, Miss Elizabeth accompanied Savage to the ring. She was one of the key factors in The Mega Powers breaking up. She helped Hogan and Savage defeat the Mega Bucks at SummerSlam 1988.

9: Zelina Vega

Zelina Vega is the manager of Andrade Cien Almas. Sometimes she aids in Almas’ victories. One of these wins includes a lengthy run with the NXT Championship. Vega also is a part-time in-ring competitor. She has a singles win over Lana. Since she and Andrade are now on SmackDown Live, it seems things are improving quickly for La Muñeca.

8: “The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart

Jimmy Hart managed several legends such as Hulk Hogan, The Hart Foundation, Jerry Lawler, and Ted DiBiase. Hart started in Memphis as a manager, but is mostly known for his work in WWF and WCW.

7: Mr. Fuji

Many fans of the early nineties WWF usually forget that Mr. Fuji was a wrestler in the WWWF and WWF in the eighties before becoming a manager. Mr. Fuji managed Yokozuna to a Royal Rumble win and WWF Championship reign in 1993.

6: Captain Lou Albano

Captain Lou accompanied Ivan Koloff during his championship win over Bruno Sammartino after his seven-year title reign. Albano lead fifteen teams to win Tag Team Championship gold. That includes The Valiant Brothers, The Wild Samoans, The Yukon Lumberjacks, and The Blackjacks.

Of course, he is featured in Cyndi Lauper’s music video for “Girl’s Just Wanna Have Fun”.

5: Paul Ellering

Ellering is most remembered for his management of The Road Warriors from 1981 to 1997. He made a shocking return to manage the Authors of Pain in 2016 in NXT. Ellering’s legacy is carried on by his daughter, Rachael Ellering.

4: Jim Cornette

Likely the most controversial manager on this list, Cornette is remembered mostly for his outspoken opinions on various things in wrestling. Cornette’s biggest achievement is accompanying the Midnight Express to the ring over several promotions.

3: Paul Bearer

The Undertaker’s long-time friend, enemy, mentor, and manager is undeniably one of the best of all time. When he wasn’t managing the Undertaker with his signature urn in his hands, Bearer lead Undertaker’s brother Kane to the ring. On some occasions, he ventured to the squared circle with both brothers at his side.

2: Paul Heyman

Ladies and gentlemen… His name is Paul E Dangerously. That was his name in WCW anyway. Heyman was the owner, lead booker, and executive producer of the now defunct ECW. Of course, almost every week, Heyman can be found on Monday Night RAW with his client Brock Lesnar.

1: Bobby “The Brain” Heenan

As if anyone else could take the top spot here. Bobby Heenan, over several promotions, has been an irreplaceable part of wrestling both as a manager and in-ring competitor. Whether on commentary with Gorilla Monsoon or walking to the ring with Andre the Giant, Bobby Heenan is undoubtedly the greatest manager professional wrestling has ever seen.
