James Leads Lakers To 101-86 Win Over The Kings

The Los Angeles Lakers got a much needed win against the Sacramento Kings last night. The Lakers won 101-86 and it’s the first time all season they’ve held an opponent to under 100 points. LeBron James led the way with 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Brandon Ingram had another bad game. As a result, he was 5-17 from the field and only scored 12 points. Ingram was a player I had high expectations for this season. He’s still young and inconsistent. As the season progresses, I would expect the play of Ingram to improve.

Tyson Chandler Gives Lakers An Edge On the Boards, Hurts Kings

Tyson Chandler has been fitting in quite well for the Lakers. Luke Walton does not need Chandler to get 15 points a night. He is simply there to just get rebounds and play defense. Rebounding and defense are two of the Lakers’ biggest weaknesses.

Last night, Chandler grabbed 12 rebounds. If Chandler can keep rebounding at a consistent rate, this will allow the Lakers to have a center on the floor with any four other players. Lineup diversity is also going to be key going forward for this Lakers team.

Lakers Are Starting To Develop Much Needed Continuity

After falling to an 0-3 start, the Lakers are at .500 at 6-6. With a win against the Atlanta Hawks tonight, they will have a winning record for the first time this season. The Lakers have won four of their last five games. This team is also finally starting to develop some time of continuity. The young guns are also adjusting well to playing with James.

Player of the Game: LeBron James

No surprise as James was the best Laker last night. James had 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists. He also shot 3-6 from three point range. This was a big early division game and James was not shy of the spotlight. With November being a critical month for the Lakers, I expect James to have plenty of big games.

Looking Ahead:

The Lakers have a chance to have a winning record tonight as they take on the Hawks. November has a much more forgiving schedule for the Lakers. The remainder of the games for the week is looking good for them.

They face the Portland Trail Blazers at home on Wednesday, and visit Orlando to take on the Orlando Magic on Saturday. Also, James’ homecoming to Cleveland is next week. If this team plays the way they have been playing the last week, they will definitely be in the thick of the playoff race at the end of the month.
