Paris Saint-Germain vs Lille Preview

The highest-scoring side in French Ligue 1 welcome Lille to Parc des Princes this Friday evening.

Having won 11 out of 11 league games, Paris Saint-Germain hope to continue their best form this season.

Meanwhile, Christophe Galtier’s men sit second only to PSG in the standings having won eight of their last 11 matches.

Nonetheless, Lille comes to PSG’s fortress where they have yet to lose since May.

Additionally, the Parisians have won each of their previous six meetings with Lille.

Team News

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel had at his disposal Thiago Silva and Dani Alves who returned to practice this week. However, it may be too soon for either to return to playing action.

The red hot Kylian Mbappe and Adriend Rabiot will likely start against Lille. Both players were late to a team meeting and thus were sat on the bench against Marseille. Nonetheless, both players saw playing time.

Additionally, Gianluigi Buffon will get the start against Les Dogues.

For Lille, Jeremy Pied will likely be on the bench after having performed well against Strasbourg in their loss in Coupe de la Ligue. Additionally, Rui Fonte is fully fit once again for Lille.

Possible Lineups

PSG XI (3-4-1-2): Buffon; N’Soki, Marquinhos, Kehrer; Bernat, Rabiot, Diarra, Meunier; Neymar; Mbappe, Cavani.

Lille XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Celik, Fonte, Soumaoro, Ballo-Toure; Mendes, Xeka; Pepe, Ikone, Bambal; Remy.

Prediction

While PSG have been able to keep a clean sheet in their last four matches in Ligue 1, Lille have a Nicolas Pepe and Jonathan Bamba looking to create between the lines.

The pair have 14 goals and six assists between them both this season.

However, the reining champions have accumulated 39 league goals this season. Though Edinson Cavani is still in doubt, it looks like PSG will be with all their firepower at front and have the edge at home.

PSG 5 – 1 Lille
