Paige Finds a Role for WWE Evolution PPV

With WWE Evolution only days away, we are really beginning to piece the puzzle together. The women who have helped pave the way for the Superstars of past, present, and future will be honored and recognized during this event. That being said, despite Paige’s unfortunate injury resulting in her in-ring retirement, don’t count her out of WWE Evolution just yet. After all, would it really be a ground-breaking PPV without one of the pioneers of the “women’s revolution” part of it?

As we all know, Paige’s career was cut short following a series of injuries. That final injury was suffered at a house show.

The injury to her spine would force her to hang up her boots for good, unlikely to ever return to the ring again. However, in a great turn of events, Paige was given the opportunity as SmackDown Live‘s General Manager. That gig would keep her with the company, making fans who love her hold on to any and all hope of recovery.

Although Paige won’t be able to participate in the ring, she will certainly be a large part of the show. WWE announced on their website that she will join Renee Young and Beth Phoenix on the Kickoff Show panel, which will undoubtedly make for plenty of laughs. Paige was never bad at promos. However, her new role has forced her to truly develop her mic skills. Now with those new skills, she will mesh well with Renee and Beth. It is also likely she’ll make some cameo appearances during the show itself.

Other Important Roles

Additionally, staying true to the PPV’s focus, Beth and Renee will move from the Kickoff Show to the commentary booth. However, veteran commentator Michael Cole will be joining them.

Charly Caruso, Kayla Braxton, and Dasha Fuentes will be on the red carpet. Cathy Kelley and Sarah Schreiber are there to host interviews. Dasha Fuentes has been off the road for quite a while. She suffered an injury to her Achilles tendon back in August.

Another important person to note is Lilian Garcia. The legendary ring announcer will make her return at WWE Evolution, taking turns with JoJo and Kayla Braxton.
