Week 6 Preview: L.A. Rams vs. Denver Broncos

The Los Angeles Rams will take on the Denver Broncos this Sunday in Denver. This AFC vs. NFC matchup is set to be a real spectacle. The Broncos will be trying to ruin the Rams’ perfect record to start the season. Denver has a 2-3 record and sit third in the AFC West.

The stars will be out for this one. Notables on both teams include Todd Gurley, Jared Goff, Von Miller, and Chris Harris. A loss for the Broncos could be a really tough blow to their playoff hopes, whereas a loss for the Rams would leave them sitting high atop the NFC West regardless of the outcome.

Players To Look Out For

Rams

Jared Goff (QB)

Goff has had a remarkable start to the season. Five games in, he leads NFL quarterbacks in passing yards and ranks second in completion percentage. Many are considering Goff in MVP talks, even though we’re only one-fourth of the way through the season. Jared Goff has proven that he is exactly who the Rams thought he’d be and more.

He is not only looking like a franchise quarterback, but like one of the best the NFL has to offer. It will be a good test for Goff to face a solid defensive line including the likes of Bradley Chubb and Von Miller.

Todd Gurley (RB)

Todd Gurley is the perfect running back in every possible way. He is patient, quick, and elusive. The Rams can run him up the middle and outside, as well as in the screen game. He excels at everything. So far this year, many consider Gurley the season’s MVP.

Gurley has, expectedly, put up outstanding numbers. He’s been nothing short of unstoppable so far. The Broncos’ defensive line will be a difficult task for the running back, so we’ll see how he fares.

Broncos

Von Miller (OLB)

Von Miller has, again and again, proved that he is a top linebacker. His skills are immaculate and his stats show it. Miller is always a threat to quarterbacks and, if he can consistently put pressure on Goff, he may be able to break the rhythm of the Rams offense. If that happens, the Broncos may be able to pull out a win.

Emmanuel Sanders (WR)

Sanders got off to a nice start this year and so did the Broncos. The Broncos started 2-0 and, through both matchups, he averaged 115 receiving yards per game. Sanders remains a crucial part of the Denver offense. Since then, he has slowed down a bit and so have the Broncos.

Denver is on a three-game losing streak heading into Week 6. During these three losses, Sanders averaged an underwhelming 52 yards per game. If he can have a big night against the Rams, however, there is a good chance that the rest of the offense follows suit. As long as the Broncos offense clicks, they’ll have a chance of scrapping out the W.

Prediction

37-14 Rams
