Seahawks To Play Raiders In First London Game

Each year, teams travel outside of the United States to play in a foreign place. In hopes of trying to establish a permanent presence in cities outside of the U.S., multiple teams have traveled to Mexico City, Toronto or London. For a few years now, the Oakland Raiders have been happy to make either trip and play in another country.

This will be the second time the Raiders travel overseas to play in London and their fourth international game. Yet, this is the first time the Seattle Seahawks have ever traveled outside of the U.S.

Facing The Problems

Raiders

Derek Carr and the 1-4 Raiders have some things to work out before facing the Seahawks high ranked defense. Carr tends to throw interceptions under pressure. Especially near or in the end zone. If his offensive line can’t unleash their power, the tendency won’t be erased just quite yet.

Many receivers have had a problem dropping the ball. Martavis Bryant has dropped multiple wide open passes that could have moved the chains for the Raiders. Amari Cooper, as well as Seth Roberts and Jalen Richard struggle to get open.

Seahawks

Even though Seattle lost their top safety Earl Thomas in Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals, they can still be a threat. In Week 4, they kept up with it rolling with the Los Angeles Rams until the very end.

Yet, Russell Wilson isn’t the Super Bowl quarterback that Seahawks fans used to know. Last season, he accounted for 75% of the team’s rushing touchdowns, yet this season he hasn’t accounted for any. He used to be one of the top quarterbacks to accomplish a game-winning drive, but he has yet to complete one so far this season.

Beast Mode

Marshawn Lynch could be the whole talk of this overseas game. He will be facing his former team for the first time since he left Seattle. During his five years at Seattle, Lynch recorded 44 rushing touchdowns and eight receiving touchdowns. His first year in Oakland he only recorded seven touchdowns, but he can still run over linemen quite easily. The possibility of going off against his former team is high.

Seattle’s run game has yet to be the same since Lynch left, but recently it has been looking up. In their last three games, the Seahawks have had a running back rush for over 100 yards. Before Week 3, they went 22 weeks straight without having a 100-yard rushing game.
