Game Preview: Penn State Welcomes Michigan State
After coming off of their bye week and the most heartbreaking loss of the season. Game preview Penn State welcomes Michigan State.
It’s homecoming this weekend at Penn State and a lot of alumni and lettermen will be in town for the big clash. For those who still can’t over the fourth and five calls against Ohio State. Don’t worry, neither can I.
The Clash
Coming into this weekend’s game. Both Penn State and Michigan State have suffered defeats. Michigan State’s was at the hands of Northwestern while the Nittany Lions suffered a crushing blow by the Buckeyes of Ohio State.
Both teams are sure eager for victories. Penn State head coach James Franklin mentioned in his presser after Ohio State how he plans to become uncomfortable with being great and wanting to become elite.
Penn State
Within the span of the past two weeks. Now No. 8 Penn State managed to move up three spots (previously ranked 11th). You can say all you want of how Penn State only lost by one point to the then No. 4 ranked Buckeyes. The fact of the matter is they should have won that game and they didn’t.
Point the finger or whatever you want to do. But that call on fourth and five was not logical. Yes, Penn State must focus on Michigan State now. Trace McSorley is having the best year if his career. And they’ll need to thrive on him for this game.
Michigan State
Last weekend, the Spartans lost to Northwestern. the loss came as a surprise to most in the college football landscape. However, Michigan State brings an excellent defensive alignment to the table with their pass rush.
At Spartan stadium last year, Michigan State defeated Penn State by a field goal and what most people would say a two-hour rain delay played a factor.
Conclusion
Overall, Michigan State and Penn State have played 33 times including one tie. Michigan State currently leads the series 16-15. the game kicks off at 3:30 on Big Ten Network. This was game preview Penn State welcomes Michigan State. This game is also played for the Land Grant trophy.
