Brewers Set for Game 1 Against Rockies

Tonight is Game 1 of the NLDS between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Colorado Rockies. The Brewers are in the postseason as NL Central Champions while the Rockies defeated the Cubs in the Wild Card Tuesday night. The Brew Crew is sending starter Brandon Woodruff to the mound against Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela. On the year, Woodruff is 3-0 with a 3.6 ERA and 47 strikeouts. After making 17 starts in the minors this year, Woodruff is ready to start Game 1. Woodruff was best out of the bullpen this year, posting a .73 ERA and 11.7 strikeouts per nine in September. Game 1 will be at Miller Park starting at 5:07 pm EST on FS1.

Yelich, Cain, Aguilar Look to Lead Brewers to NLCS

MVP-candidate Christian Yelich, outfielder Lorenzo Cain, and slugger Jesus Aguilar look to get the Brewers offense going against a tough Rockies pitching staff. The Rockies staff is young, strong, and wants to win. The Brewers powerhouse offense looks to break that in this series. Within the season series, the Brewers won 2/3 in Colorado and also took 2/3 in Milwaukee. The Brewers come in as the clear favorite, but the Rockies are a surging team at the right time. Two of the top offenses in the league face off to face the winner of Braves/Dodgers for the NL pennant. The Brewers have one of the highest scoring offenses in the NL. The Brewers would need to attack the young pitchers of the Rockies early if they want to advance. The Rockies are a confident team that is being put to the test but don’t underestimate them.

Who Wins the Series?

The Brewers have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs and will host three of the five games in Milwaukee. The Brewers powerhouse offense and dynamic bullpen will play to their advantage as they look to advance to their first NLCS since 2011. The Brew Crew will be a tough force in the National League but come October baseball, anything can happen.
