Thierry Henry Possible Ernesto Valverde Replacement

We are only a month in change into the season and fans have already turned against Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde.

Despite starting 4-0 in La Liga and laying an egg against Girona at home, everything seem to have been going just fine.  After all, this is just the beginning.

Then came Champions League, and everything was back to normal. Wining!

But then the Catalan club had to visit Leganés at Estadio Municipal de Butarque. Here, Barcelona loss their first game of the season against the last-seeded, small town club, El Lega.

However, it doesn’t end there. In their next match, Camp Nou opened the door to Los Leones of Athletic Club. Valverde decides to rotate while benching Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets.

Many will argue that this Barcelona team should operate well without Messi and Busquets in the lineup. However, that seems to be far from reality.

Against Los Leones, Barcelona was at bay for the majority of the first half. It wasn’t until Messi and Busquets entered the game that the Catalans had opportunities.

But… It’s Not All Ernie’s Fault

Luis Suarez and Gerard Pique are far from their best versions. Though against Girona, Pique was the savior, but his last couple encounters have been far from spectacular.

As for Luis Suarez his form has been questioned from what he once was at Liverpool. From the beginning it was said he was a tad bit overweight and perhaps it was the reason his debut in La Liga was slow, despite the suspension he was given that year.

While he has continue to score goals, with 155 goals in 207 games, he still has not been able to catch fire this season.

Many consider that the absence of Neymar has left him with more marks leaving him with lesser options at goal.

The Option Of Thierry Henry

Jota Jordi of Spanish program El Chiringuito revealed on Sunday that at Can Barça doubts have begun surfing and have begun shuffling names to replace Valverde. Many have begun to be fed up with the rotations and the not inclusion of the new players like Malcom, Arthur and Arturo Vidal.

Not to say the least, the benching of Messi against Athletic.

The name that has been sounding strong is Thierry Henry, currently second coach of Roberto Martinez with the Belgium national team.

It’s worth saying that Henry has no coaching experience other than that of second coach. However, Belgian players have only great things to say about the former Barcelona and Arsenal star.

Nevertheless, more names will start circulating as Barcelona enters October with difficult fixtures on their schedule.

What’s Next For Barcelona and Ernie

The Catalan side heads to London to face Tottenham in the Champions League at Wembley Stadium. The Spurs are coming off a last minute lost to Inter Milan in the tournament and are looking into turning things around before boss Mauricio Pochettino starts being under fire.

Then, the Blaugranas will pay Mestalla a visit and play against Valencia. A tricky international break has been placed between their next match where Sevilla will visit Camp Nou on October 20.

Champions League returns that same week against Inter Milan and to end the month they will have El Clasico against Real Madrid at home.

A very hard stretch awaits the Catalans and Valverde who surely will be coaching for his job in the month of October.
