A’s Clinch Last Wild Card Spot As AL Playoffs Are Set

So a team that has come out of the blue and have stolen the show are the Oakland Athletics.  I thought that they would finish last in the American League West. However, they have 95 wins and have as of yesterday, clinched the last wild card spot in the American League, and they will be taking on the New York Yankees in this Wild Card game.  The A’s have had many guys step up with big years.

Including, Kris Davis, Matt Chapman, Jed Lowrie, Blake Treinen, and Sean Manaea (even though he will be missing these playoffs).  I think that these guys will have a big impact in this wild-card game, and even in the rest of the playoffs if they were to move on.  The Yankees will be a tough test, but the A’s have the guys to get business done.  And no matter what happens, the baseball world gets a win-win.  Either we get the surprise team of this season, the A’s, knock off the MLB’s most hated team, or we get the best rivalry in sports history (Red Sox vs Yankees).  So I am very pumped for this game.  Us here at TSJ will be making a preview for this game and all the other games this postseason, so stay tuned.

Do the A’s Stand a Chance?

So I have seen a lot of people counting out the A’s in this game.  They are the underdog coming into the Bronx and trying to knock off one of the best teams in the league.  But, the A’s aren’t even that much of an underdog.  They are only about one game back of the Yankees in the standings.  So this will be a lot closer of a game than most people will think.  I will go more in depth in the preview article, but let’s just say, the A’s will not go down with a heck of a fight.  They have way outperformed expectations, and they are coming in with all of the momentum.  Kris Davis and Matt Chapman I think can match Judge and Stanton.  Davis leads the AL in home runs.  Chapman is on another planet, so the message of this article, watch out for the A’s.
