Sasha Banks Out of Mixed Match Challenge Due to Injury

According to WWE, Sasha Banks will not be competing in the second edition of Mixed Match Challenge. This is apparently due to an injury received in early September.

Cathy Kelley made the announcement via WWE’s Twitter page.

During the very first Mixed Match challenge, Sasha Banks teamed with crowd favorite Finn Balor. Dubbed “Bosses Club”, the team made it to the quarterfinals. They were eliminated by The Miz and Asuka; Team “AwwwSuka” would go on to eventually win.

With the announcement of a second Mixed Match Challenge, Banks was once again scheduled to compete. Her partner this time would be former ECW and United States champion Bobby Lashley.

Change of Plans

Before the new duo could have a match, however, Banks was supposedly replaced due to injury. It’s reported that former WWE Women’s champion Mickie James would be Sasha’s replacement in the upcoming Mixed Match Challenge.

Nothing has been reported on when Sasha suffered the injury. What kind of injury that is affecting the former RAW Women’s champion hasn’t been specified yet.

Sasha’s last televised match was a tag team match with Bayley against Ember Moon and Dana Brooke on September 3rd. She would also work live events that weekend from September 7th-9th. She competed in an eight woman tag team match during the live event.

Banks has been a key part of Monday Night RAW since her main roster debut in 2015. She has had high profile feuds with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss since then.

Just how long Sasha Banks will be sidelined for is not known as of now. She isn’t scheduled for next week’s Monday Night RAW or any live events coming after.

In any case, we hope for a quick recovery and wish to see Sasha Banks in a WWE ring again soon.
