Monday Night Raw

Cole, Graves & Saxton welcome everyone into Monday Night Raw as Triple H makes his way to the ring. He claims Wrestlemania was a huge success, despite the ongoing controversy surrounding the main event. Triple H reveals that John losing the WWE Championship was ‘best for business’ and the future of WWE. He admits to distracting John so that Dolph Ziggler could cash in his contract and win. Hunter explains that Dolph hit a point in his career where he became a true veteran, realizing to put the business before the fans. When he went to Dolph about a possible plan to dethrone John, Ziggler immediately accepted. Triple H says that’s when he realized Dolph was ready to sacrifice everything to serve his king. Triple H congratulates Dolph on the best career decision of his life, welcoming out the WWE Champion Dolph Ziggler.

Here to Show the World

Ziggler comes out nonchalantly and tells everyone he is done trying to be their friends. He doesn’t give a damn about anything anymore, which includes the belt he currently holds. Dolph says he will gladly play the ‘puppet’ to his ‘master’, even if it means he can hold the WWE Championship around guys who want it more than himself. Ziggler says others may want the WWE Championship more, but there’s nothing anyone can do because he’s the best in that ring.

Kevin Owens comes out and yells that he deserves to be the champion because unlike Dolph, he actually gives a damn. Hunter reminds Owens that he lost his opportunity when he lost to John Cena last night. John Cena comes on to the stage, asserting that they should address the elephant in the room and discuss how a supposedly deceased individual accompanied Kevin Owens to the ring. Big Boss Man comes out of nowhere and attacks Cena. The two brawl all the way into the ring, so Triple H suggests they get a referee for a 1-on-3 Handicap Match.

1-ON-3 HANDICAP MATCH (turn entrance OFF)

John Cena vs. Kevin Owens, Big Boss Man & WWE Champion Dolph Ziggler

Objective: Win the match with Dolph Ziggler

Stephanie is backstage talking to a reporter. She reveals to the reporter that she wants an article up and running on how there will no longer be a roster split for both Raw and Smackdown Live brands. The reporter runs off as Bayley approaches Stephanie. Bayley offers a hug, but Stephanie turns it down – asking what she wants? She says she wants her rematch for the Raw Women’s Championship. Bayley reminds Stephanie it’s in her contract, as is everyone who lost their belts at Wrestlemania. Stephanie tells Bayley she can have her rematch against Alexa Bliss at the next pay-per-view event, Payback. She suggests Bayley stop giving out hugs and go get ready for her No Holds Barred Match tonight against Nia Jax. Bayley says she already looked at the match card and didn’t see it on there. Stephanie tells her that’s because she just made the match now. Bayley leaves a bit confused and hurt, as Stephanie sneers.

NORMAL MATCH

WWE United States Champion Samoa Joe vs. Apollo Crews (with Titus O’Neil)

Objective: Win with Samoa Joe

Before the match, Titus tells everyone that Titus World Wide is looking to expand. He asks for anyone interested to send him a ‘DM’ on social media. After the match, AJ Styles comes out onto the stage. He tells Joe he just informed Triple H that he will be invoking his rematch clause for the United States Championship at Payback. Joe tells Styles that he took the belt away from him at the grandest stage of them all and that Payback will be no different. Joe claims that it will be an honor to post AJ Styles’ name as his first title defense victim.

NO HOLDS BARRED MATCH

Bayley vs. Nia Jax

Objective: Win with Bayley

Backstage, Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton is talking with a WWE official when Triple H approaches. He congratulates Orton on winning the Intercontinental Championship, and asks Randy if he understands what that means? Orton says he’s been a champion before and knows the publicity and extra hours he has to work. Orton says he will be much more involved with charity events, claiming that having kids has changed his outlook on life. Triple H laughs and says that wasn’t what he was talking about. Triple H very seriously tells Orton that he should know exactly what he means. Orton affirms to Hunter that he will not be his ‘b****’, clarifying that he is a changed man since when they were in Evolution together. Triple H tells Orton he accepts his decision, but to expect the consequences.

6-MAN TAG TEAM MATCH

WWE Raw Tag Team Champion The New Day vs. The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman & Luke Harper)

Objective: Win with The New Day

Erick Rowan appears from the dark after the match. He and the Wyatts are about to attack New Day, but the stage goes off in flames. Kane storms the ring as Bray begins to laugh. When Kane reaches Bray the lights go out, then Wyatt appears on the big screen above the entrance. Bray laughs at Kane’s desperation to find his brother. Bray reveals The Undertaker is in good hands, and that it’s a fight the Big Red Machine can’t win. Wyatt claims that the power that controls the WWE universe is well beyond Kane’s limits. He warns Kane that he should just accept his brother’s fate… and RUN!

The lights come back on as New Day is laid out in the ring. Strowman, Harper, and Rowan attack Kane. The Wyatts are about to do to Kane what they tried to do to The Undertaker with steel steps. Appearing back in the ring is Bray after the lights go off and on again. Bray commands them to hold off on hurting Kane further, simply because he enjoys this game with Kane. He picks Kane up, kisses him and hits him with a Sister Abigail. The Wyatt’s disappear into the darkness.

Meanwhile…

Triple H walks into he and his wife’s backstage office just as The Miz with Maryse, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel storm out. Hunter asks Stephanie what Miz and his entourage wanted, as Stephanie reveals he wanted his Intercontinental Championship rematch. She tells Hunter she’s scheduling it for tomorrow’s Smackdown Live, but Triple H says they can’t trust The Miz. Stephanie reminds her husband that a rematch clause was in his contract. Hunter suggests they start on a different plan regarding the Intercontinental Championship because Orton isn’t budging, while The Miz is a narcissist.

Universal Champion Seth Rollins is in his locker room equipping himself as John Cena enters. Cena tells Seth that something fishy is going on ever since Triple H took over for both shows, and Seth needs to be careful now that he has the Universal Championship. Seth scolds John for talking to him like he’s a child, and that he and Triple H are practically families after their stint in The Authority. Seth tells John he is paranoid because he lost his championship, and that the young bucks around here are finally stepping up.

John claims that he has known Triple H longer than Seth has and that John has never put himself ahead of the company or the fans. He reminds Seth that Triple H has made a career doing the opposite. John asks Seth if he can trust him, to which Seth replies that he wouldn’t before leaving for his match.

NORMAL TAG TEAM MATCH

Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns vs. A.J. Styles & WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins

Objective: Win with Styles & Rollins

Samoa Joe attacks AJ Styles immediately after the match. All three former Shield members look at each other before deciding to help out Styles. Suddenly, Brock Lesnar’s music hits as the beast storms out with Paul Heyman strutting by his side. Lesnar hits the ring and suplexes everyone including Samoa Joe! He then F5‘s Seth Rollins. Heyman grabs the microphone, does his usual introduction – and then announces that Brock Lesnar will invoke his rematch clause at Payback. Ambrose and Reigns are able to make their feet as Lesnar F5’s them both along with Styles before leaving in a furious rage.

Smackdown Live

John Cena heads to the ring to begin the show, microphone in hand. Cena says that he doesn’t know what Triple H is doing behind the scenes, but someone has some explaining to do about Big Boss Man being around. Dolph Ziggler’s music hits as the WWE Champion comes out with an uninterested look. He tells John to shut up because no one gives a damn why Boss Man is back. Dolph says people should care about their new WWE Champion.

Ziggler claims that no one ever respected what he did in that ring, and so now he’s taking the easy road to fame. He says that no matter how much John cares about the fans, the business or his career – Dolph is ten times better. Dolph claims that he is THE show-off, and there’s no better way to show off than by being successful without caring or trying. Dolph says he is using blatant disrespect to rub into the faces of the WWE Universe and to people like Cena. Ziggler proclaims it is one of the greatest joys he’s felt in this business, to patronize the WWE and hardworking talent backstage. He compares it to wearing a diamond ring on your middle finger while sticking it right in your enemy’s face.

Don’t Do It, Dolph!

Dolph uses his middle finger to flip off John while explaining the analogy. John says Dolph has clearly lost love for the business, all while disrespecting the belt to mock others who have a passion for it. Cena admits that Dolph has all the talent in the world, but his head is in the clouds and up Triple H’s ass! The Cena Nation leader reveals he will invoke his rematch clause at Payback and bring the belt back to someone who respects what it represents. Dolph looks like he wants to punch John, who is inviting him to do so. Dolph cowers away instead, leaving with his WWE Championship.

Shane McMahon arrives in a limousine. He is immediately greeted by Triple H, who suggests that Shane should leave. Shane reveals he was sent. Triple H asks by who, but Stephanie interrupts by telling Shane that she and her husband can handle everything. She once again chastises Shane for his years of absence. Shane says he hasn’t had time to confront the two on why a supposedly deceased wrestler is walking around, because he’s been checking in on Charlotte’s condition the past few days. Shane questions whether or not Stephanie and Hunter even care about their talent’s health, especially a top talent like Charlotte. Stephanie changes the subject asking why Shane is here? He reiterates he was sent in and has an announcement to make. He leaves as Triple H and Stephanie look nervously at one another.

NORMAL MATCH

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville vs. Jack Gallagher

Objective: Win with Neville

Akira Tozawa is watching the cruiserweight match backstage. Titus & Apollo approach him. O’Neil reveals he is trying to break the Titus World Wide Brand into 205 (cruiserweight division) and asks to represent Tozawa. Titus snaps at Apollo to hand Tozawa a stack of papers he is holding. Titus reveals he already has the contract ready to sign, but Tozawa is confused. He says he has to focus on the cruiserweight championship before he can sign a contract with O’Neil. Tozawa walks off to a speechless Titus, who throws the papers back at Apollo in rage.

Smackdown Women’s Champion Natalya comes to the ring to celebrate her win. Natalya says not only did she win, but she put to rest the overrated Charlotte Flair by breaking her knee and spine. Natalya says she doesn’t regret her actions because she received a hefty pay increase for her performance. She wants to declare herself an international icon for women athletes, and proclaim the belt to herself forever. Shane McMahon’s music hits as the crowd erupts. He comes out to a huge ovation, taking the microphone from Natalya.

Shane’s Official Arrival

Shane greets the crowd, then says he has huge news. He says after some interesting recent weeks within the WWE, he has been sent in by the Board of Directors to investigate certain issues looming within the company. While he is there, he has the same power both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon possess. He proves this with a contract from the Board of Directors. He tells Natalya that he spent hours with Charlotte in the ER and that she’ll recover fine, however, he is not pleased that Natalya tried to permanently damage a great talent like Charlotte. Shane, as punishment, will have Natalya defend her Smackdown Women’s Championship tonight! A loud ‘Yes!’ chant breaks out in the arena as Natalya grabs the microphone, begging Shane to reconsider. She claims she didn’t have a choice to hurt Charlotte.

Shane asks Natalya what she means, but Triple H interrupts by coming onto the stage. He laughs at Shane’s reasoning for being there, asserting that the WWE is better than ever. Hunter calls the Board of Directors ‘dinosaur-like’ thinkers. Triple H tells Natalya she performed well and should have the night off. Shane reiterates his reason for being around and that he has direct power from the Board of Directors. Shane tells Natalya to get ready for her match tonight. Natalya leaves angry and gives Triple H dagger eyes as she passes him on the entrance ramp. Triple H stares down Shane, as he is clearly not happy at Shane’s presence and actions.

NORMAL TAG TEAM MATCH

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champion Gallows & Anderson vs. The Hype Bros (Mojo Rawley & Zack Ryder)

Objective: Win with Gallows & Anderson

Heath Slater and Rhyno come out on the stage after the match. Slater says that he just spoke with Shane and that they will get their rematch for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships on Smackdown Live next week! Gallows & Anderson are not happy, so they hit a Magic Killer on the Hype Bros before staring down their soon to be opponents.

Freaking out in his office, Stephanie tries to calm her husband down. Kevin Owens enters with Big Boss Man, asking why this idiot keeps following him around? Hunter admits that it was a mistake to have Big Boss Man accompany Kevin at Wrestlemania. Owens agrees, saying Boss Man is the reason he lost. Shane enters the office and asks what’s going on? Owens tells Shane that Triple H was just considering his WWE Championship rematch. Shane tells Kevin he won’t get that opportunity yet, and wants to know what Big Boss Man is doing around? Triple H tells Shane that Kevin and Big Boss Man were just leaving, as they both leave on cue. Shane tells Hunter that the only reason he is here after years away is that the Board of Directors knows he is up to something.

He suggests Triple H come clean, but Hunter says he is only doing what’s best for business. Shane says that some may consider Triple H’s direction dangerous, and asks about Boss Man once again. Triple H tells Shane that he seems to be running the show pretty well by handing out championship matches. He takes Stephanie’s hand as the two leave, basically giving Shane control of the show for the night. Shane watches with distrust.

NORMAL MATCH – Intercontinental Championship

(C) Randy Orton vs. The Miz (with Maryse, Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas)

Objective: Win with Randy Orton

The Miztourage immediately jump Orton after the match. They beat Orton senseless with a chair. The Miz busts Orton’s skull open causing him to bleed. He then rubs Orton’s bloody face onto the championship belt. Miz leaves very angrily without acknowledging Maryse, knowing that could be his last chance for the Intercontinental Championship.

NORMAL MATCH – Smackdown Women’s Championship

(C) Natalya vs. Naomi

Objective: Get a count out result

Natalya gets herself counted out, losing the match but keeping the championship belt. She smiles exiting up the entrance ramp. Charlotte Flair, on crutches, makes her way down the ramp. Natalya turns around and sees Charlotte, stunned. Charlotte goes to swing her crutch, but Natalya gets her first. Natalya starts beating Charlotte’s knee with a crutch until Naomi runs her off. Naomi, Shane McMahon and medical staff check on Charlotte who rolls around in pain. Shane tells Charlotte she can’t return until she is 100% medically cleared.
