Jeff Jarrett Files Lawsuit Against Anthem Sports

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Jeff Jarrett has filed a lawsuit against Anthem Sports for copyright infringement.

Jeff Jarrett and Global Force Entertainment Inc. has filed a copyright claim against Anthem Sports. Jarrett alleges that the merger between GFW and Anthem was never finalized. He also claims that Impact Wrestling has been wrongfully making money because of the failed merger.

The Lawsuit

In May 2017, Jeff Jarret was hired as Chief Creative Officer for GFW and the Anthem merger. The deal between the two companies allegedly said Jarrett would keep the rights for a show he filmed named Amped.

Five months later, after an apparent drunken altercation backstage during an Impact taping, Jarrett was fired from his position while on a leave of absence. Jarrett entered rehab and six months later was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame.

In the lawsuit documents, Jeff Jarrett claims that the merger went through. Despite this, Anthem continued airing GFW Amped and subsequently made a profit off of airing the footage. Jarrett has apparently not been properly credited nor paid for his contributions for GFW Amped or its copyright.

Jeff Jarrett and GFE also have an issue with Impact’s Global Wrestling Network. The logos are apparently too similar and some footage they show from GFW does not have the proper license to air.

GFE is expecting a payout of at least three times the amount of the original deal. They also want all profits made from airing any and all GFW content since the merger was supposedly taking place.

Jeff Jarrett and GFE are also expecting Anthem to erase and delete any and all GFW footage on their Global Wrestling Network, in order to keep Impact and Anthem from receiving more profit from GFW’s unlicensed footage.
