John Morrison On Fans Heat Against Roman Reigns

For years, Roman Reigns has been one of the most polarizing figures in WWE. Furthermore, the WWE universe seems to love to hate Reigns. However, former WWE superstar John Morrison seems to think that WWE fans should ease off of Reigns.

“When he started, he was pushed really hard. Fans had an adverse reaction to that because he’s standing in the ring across from, AJ Styles, or Sami Zayn, or Kevin Owens, or somebody that has been perceived to have fought their way up from the indies and scrapped and fought for everything they could get.”

Morrison would also go on to say:

“Now he has got this stigma from all that and it has kind of become cool, I believe, for the fans to boo Roman or be bored by Roman. Yeah, right. And maybe he deserved that five years ago, but I don’t think he deserves it anymore now. Now it’s a situation where it’s tough to deal with.”

John Morrison seems to think that it’s time to give Roman Reigns a break. Do you agree with him? Why or why not?

Reaction

I think John Morrison is right. I think Reigns has improved every aspect of his character in recent years and will only continue to do so.

The reason why most people love to hate Reigns is that he was forced down the throats of the WWE Universe. Vince McMahon gave Reigns opportunity after opportunity when he really wasn’t ready for it just yet. Typically, when people have something forced down their throat, they tend to resent it more. This is what happened to Roman Reigns as well.

WWE needs to continue to put him in situations like he’s been in against Brock Lesnar recently. With Lesnar acting like the despicable heel, fans were chanting for Reigns. Honestly, this is the reaction WWE has wanted for years and need to continue to put him in those situations.
