Cole Hamels Dominates As Bote Walks Off In Grand Style

Last night might as well have been the best game of the season thus far. The starters dominated almost all game, then turned into a scoring fest as soon as the bullpen was tapped. Cole Hamels was the first to give of the two starters, but instantly recovered and not allowing another run to score for the next five innings. Max Scherzer was dominant from beginning to end and never seemed to lose any energy at all. It was a thrilling game with an even better finish. As David Bote walks off in grand style giving the Cubs a 4-3 victory.

Cole Hamels And Max Scherzer Dominate The Game

Hamels Vs. Scherzer was one of the better pitching duels I have seen in a long time. Both these men came out with their best stuff putting it all on the line. Combining for an unbelievable 20 strike-outs in seven innings of work a piece. Even though it wasn’t tied for long because of Mark Reynold sac fly in the second inning to score Ryan Zimmerman. And in that inning ended up giving up the only hit of his start then went on to retire the next 17 consecutive batters. Striking out a total of nine in the start. Cole Hamels has been amazing so far for the Cubs in his three starts. Allowing just two earned runs in three starts going 18 innings in total.

David Bote Brings EveryBote In, In The Ninth Inning

What can I say about that hit? Stifled by the great Max Scherzer all night, and even when The Cubs are down to their last strike, they’re still able to pull it off. Collecting their MLB leading 37th come from behind victory. And as David Bote walks off in grand style bringing home one of the most dramatic walk-off victories I have ever experienced in my 22 years of being on this Earth. It’s the exact scenario every kid dreams of being in. Bottom of the ninth, down by three runs, with the bases loaded, two outs and two strikes. And a pitch down at the knees nonetheless sky’s it out to deep center for one of the most majestic walk-off grand slam I have ever witnessed. And the first time it has happened since Rajai Davis in 2014.
