For some odd reason, WWE Superstars always have some heat on them through social media. WWE Superstars Cedric Alexander and Tye Dillinger have issued apologies for offensive tweets they sent in 2011 and 2012. What were the tweets sent out, you ask?

Cedric Alexander and Ty Dillinger Say Sorry

In 2011, according to Cageside Seats’ Sean Rueter; Dillinger sent a tweet to female wrestlers to Sienna and Allie. The tweet said:

“It’s not rape if they’re sleeping.”

Dillinger apologized the other night:

“i have no excuse for my old tweets. I was a different person six years ago, and I’m beyond ashamed at what I considered “humor”. I’m so damn embrassed and I’m truly sorry to anyone I’ve offended.”

Rueter also noted that Alexander sent a tweet in 2012. Alexander tweeted how non-consensual sex isn’t rape “if you yell SURPRISE! “

Alexander tweeted his apology the other day as well.

“Six years ago I found “humor” in bad jokes. At the time it was a harmless joke between friends. In those 6 years I’ve became a father, husband, and grown into a much different man. I have offended and hurt many with my past and for that I am deeply sorry and apologize for my actions.”

It turns out, the defensive tweets have since been deleted.

Who is Tye Dillinger?

The 37-year-old Dillinger is a Canadian native and has a spot on the Smackdown Live Roster. After being on WWE’s version of ECW from 2008-2009 as Gavin Spears: Dillinger spent time on the independent scene. He returned in 2013, upon signing a development deal in NXT. He is best known for his “10” chant, which is highly popular with the WWE Universe.

Who is Cedric Alexander?

28-year-old Cedric Alexander is the face of 205 Live. He is currently the WWE Cruiserweight champion. After Alexander had a successful run in Ring of Honor; he became part of the Cruiserweight Classic tournament for WWE in 2016. WWE shortly signed him and made him part of the cruiserweight division. Alexander will defend the Cruiserweight Championship at SummerSlam on August 19. He faces off against Drew Gulak.

What will the future be for Cedric Alexander and Tye Dillinger after the tweets? Could we see some actions taken by the WWE?
