WWE Officially Joins FOX

Finally, WWE TV has an official new home. That’s right, the long-awaited rumors are true. The company will make a shift to FOX.

Co-presidents of the WWE, Michelle Wilson and George Barrios took part in a WWE investor call to discuss WWE’s newly announced TV deals with FOX and NBC Universal. Pro Wrestling Sheet was also on the call.

What’s the Future?

Wilson even mentioned that other content of WWE will be coming to regular television as part of their announced SmackDown Live deal. Positive outcomes for additional programming will be taking place on FS1 and FOX Broadcast.

In fact, many people thought we’d see NXT come to regular television. It’s just all talk now, but we could see NXT slide right in with this new deal happening.

Update on Other Countries

WWE’s distribution in the UK and India is also excepted to have a new TV deal as well by the end of this year. The UK will be set with the TV deal. However, the TV deal with India should be signed sometime in early 2019.

FOX Sports, NOT Entertainment

SmackDown Live is an indeed an entertainment show. However, FOX Sports, rather than Entertainment, has decided to pick up SmackDown Live, and the new deal will start October 2019. They wants to make the blue brand more about sports than entertainment.

How will this do with ratings? Will the switch be a good change for SmackDown Live?
