Ruby Riott Injured

Admittedly, I’ve slowly started to fall for the Riott Squad. From the completely clashing personalities to the hilarious Instagram posts, I’ve become more and more intrigued by each member. I’ve always enjoyed Ruby’s work in the ring, but her match against Charlotte Flair earlier this year has really stayed with me. Undoubtedly, Ruby Riott can hang with the “big girls”, so to speak, and deserves every push and opportunity given to her.

So that’s why I’m heartbroken to report that Ruby Riott sustained a knee injury over the weekend. The injury took place during a house show in which Riott faced Dana Brooke. The WWE announced that she would be scheduled an MRI. That would determine both a timeline for recovery time as well as the seriousness of her ailment. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio pointed out that Ruby and Dana have rarely worked together. In fact, Dana Brooke has hardly been wrestling at all.

However, because people were having troubles getting into the arena and Bray Wyatt’s automobile accident, the entire live event in and of itself was a mess. This would lead to the duo being paired together.

Unfortunately, WWE.com released a statement in regards to “Ru-Ru” (I see what you did there, Liv). Though it could certainly be a worse scenario, it isn’t fantastic. Ruby’s MRI showed that her left knee had a MCL sprain.  The WWE hasn’t mentioned the recovery time yet. Depending on how serious the injury is, Ruby could be out for between a few weeks to a few months.

Does this spell DOOM for the Riott Squad?

I sure hope not!

Yes, Ruby is the glue that holds the trio together. However, Sarah Logan has proven herself in the ring to be not only a serious competitor, but a fierce one. Although once in a while, Liv Morgan has moments of less-than-spectacular stunts, her character has really started to grow. I’m not going to lie, I enjoy seeing her in or around the ring, despite some of the heat she gets for her wrestling ability. She’s just too cute to ignore.

Hopefully, Ruby is only out for a little while. That way, we can have the entire faction back together and making a big statement. In the meantime, I am hopeful that the WWE books Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan quite strong. Then, once Ruby is back in action, we can see the three truly take over the division as they rightfully should.
