Justin Kluivert Joins Roma

Justin Kluivert has officially signed for AS Roma according to the Italian club. The permanent transfer from Ajax is for 5 years and about 20 mil USD.

The 19 year old son of Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert was announced as a new signing by Roma only ours after it was revealed that midfielder Nainggolan would be moving on to Serie A rivals Inter.

“I feel great,” the young Dutch international said. “I’m at an unbelievable club and I can’t wait to begin.”. Normally played on the left wing, the versatile winger has shown ability on the right as well as the center of the pitch.

Kluivert, who scored 10 goals in 30 appearances for Ajax last season, made his senior debut for the Netherlands as a substitute against Portugal in March. In addition, he had represented the ‘Oranje’ at all youth levels.

“He is already one of the most promising young players in Europe.” said Roma’s Sporting Director Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo. “It was not so easy beating other clubs to his signature.”

Justin’s father Patrick also played for Ajax, before moving on to Milan and later Barcelona. However, the younger Kluivert may not be as fondly remembered after criticizing the club in an interview before leaving.

Justin Kluivert made 56 appearances for Ajax in total, scoring 13 goals.
