Tragic News: WWE Legend Vader Passed Away

Vader, real name Leon Allen White, passed away at Monday night; he was only 63 years young. The legend’s son tweeted this heartbreaking news on Wednesday on Vader’s official Twitter account.

“Around a month ago my father was diagnosed with a severe case of Pneumonia. He fought extremely hard and clinically was making progress. Unfortunately, on Monday night his heart had enough and it was his time.”

“It is with a heavy heart to inform everyone that my father, Leon White, passed away on Monday night (6/18/18) at approximately 7:25 pm.”

Back in May, he undergoes a successful heart surgery, for the second time in two months. And he even said that the surgery was a success. A month ago, he was hoping to get a medical release to wrestle again.

A True Legend…

During the 1990s and 2000s, he wrestled in New Japan Pro-Wrestling(NJPW), World Championship Wrestling (WCW),  World Wrestling Federation (WWE/F), and All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW). And he’s one of the greatest super-heavyweight wrestlers ever. He can do an aerial maneuver called the Vadersault (moonsault off the top rope), which was voted “Best Wrestling Maneuver” for 1993. The Mastodon won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and WCW World Heavyweight Championship; three times respectively. He also won the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship two times, and the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship one time.

He debuted his first WWE (WWF) as one of the participants in the Royal Rumble match; entered at number 13. He fought legends like the late great Yokozuna, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and The Undertaker.  One well-known case is when he vader-bomb the WWF President Gorilla Monsoon, for stopping him from attacking Savio Vega.

His final WWE appearance was in 2016, inducting Stan Hansen into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Vader deserved to be in the WWE Hall Of Fame Class 2018 but WWE never made the call.

On behalf of all the TSJ101Sports family, we are very saddened to hear this news, and please accept our deepest condolences to Vader’s family, friends, and his loyal fans.

I (Andrew Aung: TSJ Writer) got the honor to write an article about this toughest legend in the wrestling business about his WWE Hall of Fame induction being long overdue. And he even retweeted my article, saying it was a great article and fans should read it.

May you Rest in Peace, Sir!
