New Coach Hierro Says Spain Will Be The Same

Spain’s New Coach Hierro says Spain will be the same team everyone is used to when they take on Portugal Friday afternoon in Russia. “We are not going to change even a little bit the way we do things and have been doing them for a while” said Hierro at the press conference.

Speaking with team captain Ramos at his side, “Our objective is still clear and we have most of the staff from before”. Calm and relaxed, Hierro tried to remove any doubts about ‘La Roja’s’ game plan after a coaching change just two days before the World Cup.

“The work put in by the players over the past weeks must be considered.” Hierro stressed. In addition he said, “Our style of play is not going to change overnight”

Ramos Supportive

Many believe the Spanish captain had heavy involvement in Lopetegui’s move to Madrid. Speaking highly of his new coach in the same interview, Ramos described Hierro as the perfect replacement according to Eurosport. “Not many people are more qualified for the job. He was a great player and has relationships with us”
