Lamar Jackson’s Road To The NFL Is Through Baltimore

Today is the day, D-Day well no not that D-Day but Draft Day!! Where many hopeful college athletes hope to get on the road to the NFL and make a name for themselves. One of the most sought after QBs in this years draft class, Lamar Jackson is almost a sure thing in the first round. Moreover, there have been many rumors that the team that wants him the most is the New England Patriots. Yes, that’s right the New England Patriots are finally looking for someone to follow in the shoes of Tom Brady. Which is something that shouldn’t be taken lightly, but if that’s Jackson’s road to the NFL I would be happy to have him as a Patriot.

Lamar Jackson

The starting QB from Louisville, Lamar Jackson standing at six-foot-three and weighing 205-pounds makes him a big, lean, fast quarterback. Something that is becoming very common in the NFL today is that we are seeing a lot less straight pocket passer quarterbacks and more quarterbacks who can scramble and run for positive yards. Also, running a 4.34 40-yard dash time is definitely going to help you in that department. He has the athleticism, strength, and speed.

Jackson is a very mobile quarterback, has a strong and accurate arm, and makes really good decision-making while under pressure. Although, I think his most valuable asset is his ability to avoid the rush with ease. Taking nothing and turning it into a positive gain, that’s not something that you see a lot of in the NFL. Although the linemen in the NFL are a lot bigger and are coming at you a lot faster, so we won’t know exactly how well he will perform in the NFL. However, from what I have seen, he should have no problem making a career wherever he ends up.

Where Will Lamar Go?

One of the most intriguing things about Draft Day is predicting where everyone will end up. After weeks of Draft talks and mock Draft boards and endless notifications from NFL Mobile, the team most interested in Jackson seemed to be none other than my New England Patriots. And it makes a lot of sense; Brady wants to play until 45 (which he probably will), so this is the perfect time to start grooming the QB of the future. The Patriots’ first overall pick comes at 23, but they may have something up their sleeve to grab Jackson. And if they do, all the Patriots weird offseason moves almost make complete sense. The only thing left is when will the Patriots sign Dez Bryant?

Lamar’s Draft Day Spotlight

Well, in the end, his road to the NFL was not through the Patriots yet through the Baltimore Ravens. A team the Patriots do see a lot of throughout the season. He was drafted with the 32nd Overall pick in the first round of the 2018 Draft.
